Looking forward

11/22/05 Exchange Club prayer of Dad’s  Our heavenly Father, we come here today looking forward to Thursday and the joy of giving thanks with family and friends. We thank you now for the miracle of life, for the love of family, for the newness of each day and the opportunities that are ours. Amen

Looking forward to Thursday, tomorrow, Thanksgiving. Regardless of who will be there or not there. I still remember a wonderful Thanksgiving snowbound at my Aunt and Uncle’s farmhouse. My parents couldn’t get through due to the hazardous conditions.

So, tomorrow, many family members will be absent. Grandparents, parents, brother, aunt and uncle all have passed away. But the memories of too many cooks and pies cannot pass away.

I look forward to recalling these memories and to creating more. Keep on moving forward, always.

Love your words, Marty. I feel the same way. Thanksgiving is exactly that……giving thanks for our blessings. Many of my family are missing at the table, as well, but are strong in my heart. Each of them blessings to be grateful for.

Thank you, Deborah. Some of our family/blessings are indeed invisible at today’s table, but present in our hearts.
