2/4/03 Our Father God, we thank you for the opportunity of prayer – to join with others who grieve and feel so helpless. Help us to know that your Grace will sustain and support us. Give us hope and encouragement as we cope with the ‘happenings’ of life – Renew and rekindle our Faith & trust in Thee. Amen
I am such a Midwesterner. Waking up to fresh-fallen snow still is enchanting to me, even if I, not my parents, have to shovel it. Come to think of it, I don’t recall Mom ever shoveling snow.
Snow makes the dreary winter trees look beautiful and magical. The lone dead persimmons stand out. The world looks outwardly more hopeful.
But this week there were conversations and concerns others spoke and I shared in:
- Where was God in this tragedy?
- Why is this pattern so predictable?
- Where is my respect?
Renew us God. Give us snow hope to trust beauty is there, that You cover us with love from Your vast treasuries.
