8/26 Our Father, in this week that marks the beginning of another school year for our children and grandchildren we ask for your blessing upon each of them. Help them to achieve – to accept discipline – to grow in character – to find new friends and to find JOY in learning and living. Amen
Starting with the tough stuff first: discipline leads to growing leads to finding, friends and joy in both learning and living as the cycle continues.
So the tough stuff is, for me, purging. Un-needed, unused clutter that is flotsam weighing me down. The “things” that speak to me disapprovingly from bookshelves.
“Why is this still here?”
“Really?”
“Uh, what were you thinking?”
I like that Jesus told his disciples to travel light. I need to accept discipline.
