1/2/2007 Our Father, we are grateful for the opportunity to begin a New Year – to recognize learnings from days passed – to join with others in paying our respects to those no longer with us and to be reminded of tasks that need to be accomplished in the days ahead. Amen
Beginning a New Year. And so it begins. No guarantees where we shall end the new year.
Five minutes ago a car left the driveway, packed to the gills with everything (except cooking gear) to start a new life in warmer climes. No woman would embark on a change like that without a fry pan, sorry it’s true.
So I pray that Dad’s prayer, “to recognize learnings from days passed” is a prophetic line in the sand. There still is no guarantee, but to not recognize things already learned is especially tragic.
I also pray that I commit fully “to the tasks that need to be accomplished” and release those that do not need to be accomplished.
The wisdom to know the difference. Therein lies the growth.
Thanks for being with me on this journey. I am not running this race alone.
