Smoke beams

Christmas Day 2017   New lasagna recipe overflows in oven, bubbling contents burn on bottom of oven.

Me? I grab a camera (ok, a phone) and take a picture because the afternoon sun shining in the window with 3″ of pure white snow is highlighting the smoke and it is gorgeous. The smoke alarms are going off and others scramble to ward off flames. Not I. I know the smoke will be soon dismissed and if I don’t document the beauty it will be gone.

I can stay focused when I see the beauty, even if a disaster caused it.

That gives me great hope.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Look amidst the smoke beams, therein lies treasure.
