Justice or Vengeance

1/10/18 Our Father, now that either justice or Vengeance has been accomplished we ask for your help in living together as persons who value life, laws and liberty. Guide and bless those who bear responsibility for this nation and help all of us to better understand and practice tolerance. Amen

No clue as to which contentious bit of court news this pertained to.

Dad read the paper faithfully every morning. Living in a patio home where the drives were all shoveled maintained a safe route to the street mailbox where the paper was left.

Or did it? We visited during the winter once and I recall shoveling a path to get to the box. He was probably 84 at that time. Like I said dedicated, faithful, no half measures.

Today’s date got entered in as 1s and 0s, except for the year. I am no code writer but I have owned enough old technology (a “toaster oven” Mac) and watched enough technology spy movies to see the either/or object lesson play out. Positive/negative. Justice/vengeance. Is there a spectrum within either pairing?

We all have heard “a little bit pregnant” and realize the fallacy of that. So, is there a little bit of justice or a little bit of grey-zone negativity?

Walking middle grounds is life here on earth. We feel the tension pulling us always to one side or the other.

Funny how people think being in the middle is so safe. I am not sure it is.

This is where tolerance comes in.
