8/13 Our Father, we pause again to include You and to ask for your blessing on our fellowship. We are grateful for this day and the opportunities life gives each of us. Sustain us in these days in which we find so much to worry about – remind us of the positives and to entrust to you those matters that cannot solve without your help. Amen
Two things, ok, maybe 3.
- We won’t “find” things to worry about if we aren’t looking.
- These “matters” we worry about are not alive, notice my dad didn’t write, “solve themselves“
- Maybe I shouldn’t have assumed it was a typo and added the parenthetical “we”.
Entrusting means believing that the matters, animate and inanimate, that I leave in God’s hands are safe. They will be watched over and monitored. They will be kept out of harm’s way. If I don’t entrust someone, I don’t leave anything of value with them. Are there degrees of trust? I will trust you with a $20 dollar bill, but not a $50? I will trust you watching my house but not my car? I will trust you babysitting my house and kids, but you can’t use my smartphone?
Do I put conditions on the matters I entrust to God, also? Probably. Kind of stupid, huh?
